Starting June please note the following changes implemented by our chapter on rides and times.

As you are aware, we have two scheduled rides a month on Sundays.  This will change starting in June.  We will now have one Saturday ride and one Sunday ride.  This gives members who can’t ride on Sundays the opportunity to ride on Saturdays and vice versa.

All of our rides will now start at 12:00, instead of 1:00.  The non-scheduled rides, for those members who just meet at Graves Mill and ride, they will be at 12:00 also.

We will have New Member rides once a month conducted by myself, Paul, John, or any other member of the Road Guards. This is just for the overall safety of the club and to make an assessment of new members and their riding ability. Safety is a big concern for us all. As we continue to grow, it is vital that we start  a program like this.  For all new members, we expect you to ride in this before you come out to a big ride. If a husband or wife wants their spouse to be there I have no problem with that at all.  Let’s face it gang, you know if you are mentally ready for a large group ride. Before you consider a large ride, do as Patty did, ride with your spouse or a friend to get your skills up to par. We are a riding club, not a rider teaching club. We can advise you but not take on the liability of teaching you. As first officer, I do not want to alienate any member who is not comfortable riding in a group. But I will not jeopardize any member’s safety either.  I feel that our track record is outstanding and this is just a precaution to ensure it remains that way.

We will begin sending out an e-mail and a post on the forum to notify all of our destinations for these rides. Please begin reading your e-mails and checking the forum.

Additionally, we will have the links on our web site about group riding for all members to view in their spare time.  Let me finish by saying, ‘a reflection on our chapter and it’s membership is to care about all concerns as we do. This is why we continue to grow because people feed off of success.
